CHAPTER I/III: First Blood

“ Life is what happens when you're busy making other plans.” – John Lennon

I am not sure in which context he said it but after 2011 I realized the value of that quote. let me elaborate; be patient and read on. Most of you would have read that book titled: Who Moved My Cheese? by Spencer Johnson. For those of you who didn't you should; it's available in print and audio. To give you an insight to the book; although you can Google it; the book is a story about 2 mice and 2 little people. it's a book that teaches you an Amazing Way to Deal with Change in Your Work and in Your Life. Now for the surprise; that is exactly what I ended up doing: Dealing with Change in my Work and in my Life. Less of work and more of life. It was in the year 2011 and on one fine morning in March; don't remember the date and don't want to go back to the day but it happened. I woke up to a sunless morning.

That morning the silent thief of sight had me totally blinded in both eyes. I think I broke the suspense too soon; but a sunless morning was a very vague way of expressing that morning when I simply could not see anything but darkness. In 2009 I was diagnosed for Glaucoma. Glaucoma is an eye condition which is also termed as a disease. It is a condition that damages your eye's optic nerve. It gets worse over time. It's often linked to a buildup of pressure inside your eye. The increased pressure in your eye, called intraocular pressure, can damage your optic nerve, which sends images to your brain. If the damage worsens, glaucoma can cause permanent vision loss or even total blindness within a few years.

I remember very well; I was 35 years in 2011 and although I had gone through a preventive surgery to avoid further damage in 2009; my condition was progressive and I had to be had by Glaucoma.

The title of this blog was inspired by the movie Rambo: First Blood; 1982. It starred Sylvester Stallone, as John Rambo.
