Why Does Google Make Multi-Channel Management on Youtube So Hard?

You would think that in an era where AI can generate entire movies from a single text prompt, moving a list of videos from one YouTube channel to another would be a three-second task. You’d be wrong. Dead wrong. I recently found myself spiraling down a rabbit hole of "Save to Library" buttons, "Collaboration" links that refused to appear, and a "Add All" option that seemed to have vanished into the digital ether. If you’ve ever felt like a tech giant was gaslighting you, this post is for you.

Google offers us the world—unlimited storage (15GB), seamless mail integration, and a video platform that defines modern culture. But for all its brilliance, there are gaps in the user experience that feel like they were left over from 1998. Specifically, the "multi-channel" experience. Many of us operate under different personas or manage separate brands, yet Google treats the act of moving a simple playlist between two accounts like you’re trying to bypass a high-security vault.

I spent hours trying every "workaround" in the book. I tried the "Collaboration" trick—no link. I tried the "Save to Library" refresh—no "Add All" option. I even tried the "Queue Hack," only to find the menu items grayed out like a ghost in the UI. It’s incredibly disheartening to realize that as a user, you are often expected to be a professional troubleshooter for products that are supposedly "user-friendly." While the tech world races toward the next big thing, basic functional needs—like the ability to manage our own content without clicking "Add to Playlist" 150 times manually—are being ignored.

There is a specific kind of exhaustion that comes from being stuck in a loop where the "standard fix" simply doesn't exist on your screen. It feels like the developers assumed everyone would only ever have one channel and one set of interests. But we contain multitudes. We grow, we rebrand, and we migrate. It’s time the tools we use every day acknowledged that.

Have any of you ever hit a "digital wall" where a supposedly simple task turned into a multi-hour saga? Whether it’s moving files between drives or trying to sync accounts that refuse to talk to each other, I’d love to hear your technical horror stories and how you finally (if ever) solved them in the comments!
