One More Goodbye: We Never Learned to Leave

Every day somebody try to hurt me, why?

I keep fighting, me know me is I.

She come no love, tears in her eye,

I said stop that shit, let's say goodbye.

But goodbye never mean what we say,

You call me at night, I'm back next day.

Same old poison in a different way,

Both know it's dead, still beg it to stay.

You cry, I soften, I pity your pain,

Then you pull me close, we do it again.

Love turned toxic, running through veins,

We call it sunshine while standing in rain.

You don't want me, just don't want me gone,

I don't need you, still I hold on.

Two broken people pretending we're strong,

Knowing it's over, but dragging it on.

I pack my heart, you unpack my clothes,

I close the door, then nobody goes.

You say you've changed, but heaven knows,

We've watched this ending a hundred shows.

So maybe tonight I won't answer your cry,

Won't mistake your tears for a reason to try.

Some love must live, some love must die,

And loving myself means this time, goodbye.
